Sunday, November 24, 2024 @ 11:55pm PT Position Summary: Under the general guidance of the Dean of Students/Associate Vice President in the Division of Student Affairs, the Director of Student Athlete Resource Center/Associate Athletic Director-Student Services & Eligibility oversees the day-to-day programming and direction for various assigned areas. This position is responsible for supervision and oversight of athletic support service areas and associated staff and student employee positions within the SARC including athletic admissions and initial eligibility, athletic academic services, life skills and student-athlete development, compliance and athletic financial services. The position is a member of the Student Affairs Directors’ group. FLSA:
Exempt (Not eligible for overtime compensation. This position is eligible for full benefits.) Anticipated Hiring Range:
$7,916 monthly - $9,000 monthly, commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training CSU Classification Salary Range:
$5,053 per month - $16,221 per month Work Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Hours may vary depending on operations. May include occasional evenings and weekends. Department Information: SARC is responsible for assisting student-athletes in their transition to Sacramento State. Our office becomes the primary resource for student-athletes focusing on academic advising, NCAA eligibility, mentoring, and retention and graduation efforts. We help students navigate additional campus resources, as well as online platforms such as CANVAS, OnBase, and the Student Center/Academic Requirements page. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree or equivalent work experience in related fields. Three to five years’ experience in higher education at a college or university in various support service areas for student-athletes. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and various university policies, including general education requirements, admissions procedures, grading policies, university testing requirements, and registration procedures. Demonstrated progressively responsible university experience in student affairs and/or athletics administration. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to work with people in a multi-ethnic environment. Demonstrated understanding of the special demands of the collegiate academic environment with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, University administration, faculty, coaches, and the surrounding community. Knowledge of administration, organizational management, personnel management, budgeting, and academic and athletic compliance structure. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to compile, write, review and present reports, as well as the capacity to analyze, comprehend, and provide appropriate solutions to problems. Strong customer service orientation and a working knowledge of PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office, and other related software. Conditions of Employment: Ability to pass background check. Preferred Qualifications: Five to seven years’ experience working in various support service areas for student-athletes or academic support for enrollment management. Three to five years’ experience certifying NCAA eligibility. Experience managing and overseeing data collection related to NCAA data sets (e.g., graduation rates, APR, and GSR).
