SUMMARY:
As a Senior Production Manager at our poultry plant in Humboldt, TN, you can expect your day to day to include maintaining high production, quality, and yields while ensuring the safest working environment possible. This position requires an essential understanding and control of the production process, accurate record keeping, and general line maintenance and staffing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in controlling expenses
Provide for the compliance and coordination of the federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements
Interpret and enforce company policies
Maintain non-union program
Assist in the determination of manpower needs and makes recommendations
Prepare and maintain prescribed records and reports to ensure that they reflect conditions accurately
Solve problems in an effective manner with sound follow up
Work with department heads to meet production quality yields goals and metrics goals while at the same time ensuring the maintenance of labor standards and quality of performance and product
Inspect and maintain a high degree of competence in the areas of housekeeping safety sanitation security and food safety
Manage evaluate and train production supervisors
Oversee all designated shift operations and any other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the plant manager
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
High School diploma with equivalent experience or college degree preferred.
Experience:
5 plus years of related industry (labeling, shipping, or warehousing) or supervisory experience in a poultry meat processing facility experience preferred. Inventory/System management experience preferred. Experience with SAP preferred. Knowledge of OSHA USDA and HAACP regulations.
Computer Skills:
Standard computer skills.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of Team Members from hourly to upper management as well as government officials.
Special Skills:
Leader problem solver team player.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise team members in the plant; carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws; interview hire and train team members; plan assign and direct work; monitor and appraise work performance; reward coach counsel and discipline team members; address complaints and resolve problems.
Travel:
0-20 trips year or as required
Other Requirements:
Lead people by example accept and delegate responsibility display sound judgment and decision making skills; problem solve in an efficient manner with sound follow up; strong managerial skills necessary; excellent safety and attendance records. Ability to work with department heads to meet safety production and quality yields and meet goals. All Tyson Team Members are responsible for safety. This includes but is not limited to personal safety and food safety. This position is responsible for food safety food quality and legality.
