Kosmik Brands is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to support our financial planning, reporting, and strategic decision-making. As a Financial Analyst, you will work closely with leadership to analyze financial data, forecast future revenues and expenditures, and contribute to long-term business planning. This role is essential to the growth and efficiency of our company, helping us navigate the unique challenges of the cannabis industry and support our multi-state brand presence. Ideal candidates will have experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG), multi-state operations, and a strong understanding of the cannabis sector.
- Perform financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting to support Kosmik Brands’ growth objectives and operational goals.
- Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results to provide insight into company performance, identifying key trends and areas for improvement.
- Create reports and dashboards to monitor financial metrics and provide actionable insights for senior leadership.
- Support the development of annual budgets, forecast updates, and long-term strategic plans.
- Analyze product pricing, cost structures, and profitability to inform pricing strategies, inventory management, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Work closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to analyze financial impact of initiatives, promotions, and partnerships.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about trends in the cannabis and CPG industries and evaluate competitive positioning.
- Assist in financial audits, prepare documentation, and ensure compliance with state regulations specific to the cannabis industry.
- Evaluate potential investment opportunities and assist in due diligence processes for potential acquisitions, partnerships, or expansions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within CPG or cannabis industries.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis.
- Familiarity with financial reporting software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights and recommendations.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data and insights to non-financial stakeholders.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry and familiarity with its specific financial challenges.
- Knowledge of multi-state operations and how financial practices vary across regions.
- Cannabis industry experience is a significant advantage, including understanding of regulations and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with ERP systems commonly used in the CPG and cannabis sectors, such as Sage Intacct or QuickBooks Online.
- Strong project management skills and ability to work cross-functionally with teams in sales, marketing, operations, and compliance.
