POSITION SNAPSHOT: Our client is seeking a Director of Additive Manufacturing Technologies focused on both Metal and Plastics parts production. This position is located in the Southeastern USA and will likely require relocation. Relocation assistance will be considered. The facility is also ITAR regulated. The role will focus on leading technology development in additive manufacturing. It emphasizes leadership, project management, and technical expertise, making it suitable for experienced professionals looking to advance their careers in this field. The Director of AM Technologies will oversee and drive our client's additive manufacturing technology initiatives focused on polymer and metal materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in manufacturing in a high production environment. Success with proven leadership skills, and a track record of successful on-time delivery while managing complex projects is crucial. This role is key for advancing our client's technology capabilities and supporting innovation in our product development processes.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree preferred.

At least 5-7 years of experience in AM service bureau or contract manufacturing, with a strong background in polymer and metal materials. Prior experience in a managerial role is required.

5+ years of management experience in manufacturing.

Software experience with MES, ERP, and Microsoft Office.

Experience with Six Sigma.

Experience desired in an environment compliant with ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D, and ITAR.

Expertise in plastic and metal additive manufacturing technologies. In Plastics, MJF, FDM, SLA, and SLS. In metals, Metal Binder Jet or other sinter required additive processes are highly preferred.

Proficiency in materials science related to polymers and metals.

Experience with CAD/CAM software and additive manufacturing design principles.
