Finance Analyst

The Finance Analyst at Aypa Power will play a critical role on the Structured Finance team, where the Structured Finance team oversees over $2 billion of existing financings, which is growing $1-2 billion per annum. The Finance Analyst will provide analytical, transaction and quantitative support. This role is ideal for candidates looking to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced, and performance-oriented environment while building deep expertise in finance and banking and contributing to the financial success of Aypa Power.   

Responsibilities:  

• Assist in developing, maintaining, and reviewing financial models, including conducting sensitivity analyses and reporting their impact on business models and assumptions; 

• Build and analyze detailed project, portfolio, and corporate level financial models; 

• Participate in originating and marketing high profile financing transactions (>$250m), including preparing bid materials (CIM, model, term sheet), evaluating/comparing financial partners proposals, and recommending course of action based on analysis; 

• Provide support in financial due diligence and analysis for existing and future energy storage and generation assets, including tasks related to project financing; 

• Participate in the evaluation of strategic financial decisions and offer input and suggestions under the guidance of senior team members; 

• Work closely with M&A team to underwrite and evaluate investment opportunities; 

• Collaborate with the commercial and engineer teams to build financial models to support early to mid-stage project valuations and marketing efforts; 

• Support Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements during the project financing life cycle; 

• Gather inputs needed to accurately model projects from both internal subject matter experts as well as third party consultants; 

• Assist in updating crucial corporate valuation metrics and engage in fundamental financial performance analysis with the guidance of senior team members; 

• Rapidly learn and obtain in depth knowledge of renewable energy technology; 

• Other duties as required or assigned. 

Key Qualifications: 

• 1-3 years of relevant work experience in finance or related fields; 

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or accounting; 

• Familiarity with financial research, modeling, due diligence, credit agreements, and transaction documents; 

• Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint; 

• Positive attitude with strong interpersonal and communication skills; 

• Enthusiastic team player capable of contributing to a collaborative work environment. 

Compensation and Location: 

Salary: A base salary commensurate with experience; 

Bonus: An annual bonus will be awarded based on individual performance and the overall success of the business;

Location: Hybrid (USA or Canada). Ability to work in the United States or Canada is a requirement. Preference is given to candidates located in Austin, TX, Salt Lake City, UT, or Toronto, ON, or willing to relocate; 

Travel: less than 5%.
