Position Overview:

ANSER is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Analyst to join our team, where you will play a key role in managing and supporting project finances. You will be responsible for tracking expenses, verifying budgets, preparing reports, and ensuring alignment with Department of Defense (DoD) financial regulations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with various stakeholders, provide critical financial analysis, and support mission-critical initiatives.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Budget Management & Financial Reporting:
    • Verify project budgets, track expenses, and prepare monthly cost reports and dashboards.
    • Complete both monthly and year-end accruals in accordance with financial timelines.
    • Prepare, analyze, and submit budget documents, ensuring compliance with regulatory oversight and requirements.
  • MIPR & Funds Management:
    • Manage and execute Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs), ensuring compliance with DoD financial regulations.
    • Monitor and report on the commitment, obligation, and expenditure of appropriated funds.
  • Financial Analysis & Reprogramming:
    • Conduct financial analysis to support reprogramming, funding realignment, and forecasting.
    • Track and approve project budget utilization and calculate financial forecasts for projects.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination & Communication:
    • Coordinate with stakeholders to maintain adherence to appropriations guidelines and ensure that financial goals are met.
    • Work across teams to develop methodologies for planning, scheduling, and cross-team communication.
  • Project Management & Risk Mitigation:
    • Track task progress and ensure deliverables are completed on time, working in close collaboration with team leads and stakeholders.
    • Identify potential risks to financial or project timelines and proactively suggest mitigations to ensure the success of organizational goals.
  • Reporting & Leadership Support:
    • Generate and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial information.
    • Keep leadership informed of financial performance, risks, and issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Master's degree in field relevant to position
  • 15 years of relevant experience (or 17 years of relevant experience with bachelor’s degree) in financial analysis, budgeting, or project management, preferably in a government or defense-related environment.
  • Knowledge of DoD financial regulations and budget management processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present financial data.
  • Proficient in financial software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, financial management systems, MIPRs).
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across teams and with leadership.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
