Job Description

BCS Allegient has an immediate opening for a Policy Analyst to join our growing team supporting the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and their Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response (CESER). This position will support the Energy Security Policy team, who is responsible for representing DOE’s equities as the Sector Risk Management Agency (SRMA) for the Energy Sector and in national federal policy.

  • This role is hybrid (days working onsite/working remotely)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to officials who represent CESER and DOE on internal task forces, interagency working groups, and external forums.
  • Track and support key policy requirements, action items, and internal/external engagements.
  • Capture notes and deliver concise summaries for internal and external meetings.
  • Draft presentations, briefing materials, papers, reports, and responses to inquiries for internal and external distribution.
  • Facilitate discussions and drive towards resolution on key deliverables with key internal DOE stakeholders.
  • Identify high-priority items and prioritize multiple tasks and deliverables, some of which might be on tight deadlines.
  • Apply knowledge of U.S. critical infrastructure sectors and key policies (e.g., National Security Memorandum 22, National Cybersecurity Strategy, Presidential Policy Directive 41, etc.).
  • Provide strategic and policy support to CESER for emerging topics from the National Security Council, the Office of the National Cyber Director, and through the Federal Senior Leadership Council.
  • Maintain relationships and engage with interagency, private sector, industry trade organizations, and State and Territorial partners on policy matters.
  • Provide general programmatic support to the Energy Sector Section 9 Program which includes planning and coordinating logistics for Section 9 meetings, supporting interagency calls, agenda development, speaker recruitment, drafting read ahead materials, and other tasks assigned by the Program Manager.

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relative experience.
  • Ability to handle/manage sensitive information.
  • Attention to detail; excellent verbal communication, writing, and editing skills.
  • Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to diverse requests and quickly changing requirements, while meeting deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and organization skills.
  • Experience in managing multiple tasks at once.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced scheduling and execution environment.
  • Skilled at using Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.

Desired Qualifications (NOT REQUIRED):

  • Prior federal consulting experience; a strong plus if you have experience at DOE or the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
  • Knowledge of one or more critical infrastructure sectors; a strong plus if you have experience in the energy sector.
