The Department of Medicine (DOM), the largest department in the School of Medicine, has close to 600 full-time faculty leading top-notch research, clinical, and education programs. The Department has a decentralized organizational structure across four sites (Parnassus, ZSFG, SFVAHCS and Mt. Zion) and 38 divisions. Authority and accountability for the Department rests with the Department Chair who heads the Parnassus and Mt. Zion sites, and also directs the Vice Chairs at the ZSFG and SFVAHCS sites.

Under supervision of the Project Director and Lab Manager, the SRA I will organize and perform various types of assays for research protocols within the MACS/WIHS Combined Cohort Study (MWCCS). The SRA I will perform standard laboratory procedures in accordance to established SOPs in the lab.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. The salary range for this position is $26.00 - $31.04 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications

BA/BS in Biology or a related science and knowledge of, or experience with, the basic techniques or methods required by the position; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities.

Ability to work well independently, complete projects in a timely manner, and prioritize multiple projects to ensure the completion of essential tasks by deadlines.

Attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills; excellent, effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while working within a lab team.

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook.

Ability to learn and use instrument-specific software.

Demonstrated history of excellent attendance, reliability and dependability.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior laboratory experience

Experience with data entry and management of large data sets
