Washington, DC Job Description: As part of its NASA Research and Education Support Services II (NRESS II) contract, Agile Decision Sciences, LLC is seeking a Support Scientist who will support activities in the NASA Astrophysics Division. NASA’s Astrophysics Division (APD) is dedicated to exploring the universe, pushing the boundaries of what is known of the cosmos, and sharing its discoveries with the world. The Division continues expanding humanity’s understanding of how the universe began and evolved, how it works, and whether there are places beyond Earth where life might thrive. The support scientist will primarily support the APD program scientists in the process of proposal review for programs relevant to Astrophysics, running the Astrophysics Data Analysis Program and assisting the APD in process review and improvement. Duties may include assisting the APD program scientists in routine program and project management activities such as organizing and running grants proposal review panels and running community workshops and sessions at professional conferences. When needed, the employee may support NASA civil servants in attending interagency and/or international meetings and/or suborbital field campaign activities as a subject matter expert. This position will not include serving as the lead for research programs, nor will it include working as part of a mission team. Compensation:

This position is offering a pay range of $100,000 - $180,000 depending on experience, seniority, geographic locations, and factors permitted by law. Minimum Requirements: Desired qualifications: Ph.D. degree in one or more areas of Astrophysics relevant to APD (e.g., astronomy, physics, astrophysics, planetary sciences) with an interest in applying this knowledge to NASA’s Astrophysics Program. Experience with Exoplanet science and archival research related activities is especially desirable but not required; however, experience with similar coordination activities is necessary. At least 5 years of experience in a scientific or technical field relevant to the astrophysics disciplines described above. Demonstrated high degree of communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. Additional Requirements: Must have the ability to pass a Government background investigation for admission to a federal facility. EEO Statement:
