Responsibilities
The IT Security Analyst will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our security systems, applications, and procedures. This role involves performing regular system audits, preparing security reports, and working with the IT Systems Manager to perform upgrades to our systems to ensure maximum security. In this role, you will report to the Director of IT Systems.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify potential vulnerabilities
- Implement and maintain security protocols and procedures to protect information systems and data
- Monitor network traffic for suspicious behavior and identify potential threats
- Respond to and investigate security incidents and breaches
- Stay up to date on the latest intelligence, including hackers’ methodologies, to anticipate security breaches
- Develop strategies to handle security incidents and coordinate responses to security breaches
- Educate staff on information security through training and awareness programs
- Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause
- Recommend and install appropriate tools and countermeasures to prevent cyber-attacks
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:
- Associate’s in Computer Science or a related field
- Proven experience as a Security Analyst or similar role
- Experience with security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, Microsoft O365, log management, and content filtering
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., HIPAA, ISO 27001, PCI)
- Security+ Certifications and/or vocational training is preferred
- Strong understanding of information security principles, techniques, and protocols
- Willingness to grow and develop new skills while helping create solutions to support growth and expansion into new territories and markets
