Position Summary

The Executive Director serves as LVWA's chief executive officer, responsible for strategic leadership, operational management, and advancing the organization's mission. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director collaborates with staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners to drive organizational growth and maximize impact.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

Provide visionary leadership and direction to staff, fostering a culture of transparency, innovation, and excellence.

Collaborate with the Board to develop and implement strategic plans aligned with LVWA's mission and goals.

Ensure effective decision-making processes that support long-term organizational success.

Operational Management:

Oversee daily operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and budgetary requirements.

Lead, mentor, and support staff and volunteers, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.

Monitor program outcomes and impact, making data-driven decisions to enhance effectiveness.

Maintain awareness of developments in the literacy field to inform program strategies.

Financial Oversight:

Manage the organization's financial health, including budget development, financial reporting, and compliance with financial regulations.

Identify and pursue funding opportunities through grants, sponsorships, and donations to support programs and operations.

Development and Community Engagement:

Develop diverse funding resources and cultivate relationships with donors, volunteers, and community stakeholders. Prefer 3 years of grant writing experience.

Serve as a spokesperson for LVWA, advocating for literacy issues and increasing community awareness.

Implement comprehensive marketing strategies to promote LVWA's mission and engage the community.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g., education, nonprofit management) preferred; at least 5 years of professional experience.

Proven leadership experience with strategic planning, financial management, and program development.

Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.

Track record in fundraising and grant writing for nonprofit organizations.

Commitment to professional development and upholding nonprofit standards and regulations.

Understanding of literacy issues and a passion for lifelong learning preferred.

Job Type:

Pay:

$58,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
