Summary Statement: Plans, directs and coordinates municipal activities related to the planning and implementation of programs having to do with orderly land use development and growth of the Town. Conducts studies, and provides technical advice, information and policy recommendations on matters relating to land use and development, housing, transportation, economic development and related municipal planning areas.
Provides staff assistance to, and coordinates the activities of, the Planning and Zoning Commission, Economic Development Commission, Inland Wetland and Watercourses Agency and other agencies as directed. Supervises the Zoning and Wetlands Enforcement Officer and performs the Enforcement Officer’s duties in his/her absence.
Minimum Qualifications: Education and Training:
M.S. degree in Urban/Regional Planning or related field
Four years of increasingly responsible professional regional or municipal land use planning experience
OR
B.S Degree in Urban/Regional Planning or related field
8 years of increasingly responsible professional or municipal land use planning experience
Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Age, Citizenship, Licensure and Background Screening:
AICP Certification Inland Wetland Enforcement Officer Certification.
Must possess or be able to obtain Zoning Enforcement Officer Certification.
Possess or able to obtain a valid Connecticut motor vehicle operator’s license.
