Kilpatrick is currently seeking an experienced Government Relations Advisor to join our Native American Affairs team. The Government Relations Advisor will be responsible for providing strategic advice on government relations matters to the Firm and its clients, particularly with tribal governments and clean energy clients. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the political landscape, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. The Government Relations Advisor will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing legislative and regulatory developments, assisting in advocating on behalf of the Firm’s clients with government officials and at public hearings, and collaborating with other members of the Firm to develop comprehensive government relations strategies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Law, Public Policy, or related field. Advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in government relations or a related field, specifically with another law firm’s government relations practice, or by working in a government agency or legislative office. Strong understanding of the legislative process and government operations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to travel as needed.
