About Us
The University System of Georgia (USG) is comprised of 26 higher education institutions as well as the University System Office (USO). The USG provides day-to-day oversight and management of the USG Enterprise Risk Management Program (ERM).
Job Summary
The USG Director of Operations & Risk will direct, develop, implement, and lead the USG's Enterprise Risk Management program, which is intended to visualize, assess, and manage major risks that may adversely impact key organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
Manage an effective System-wide Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program.
Plan, direct, oversee, and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the USO ERM program.
Coordinate and oversee an institution-wide approach to ERM by all USG institutions.
Design key risk indicators and risk response strategies.
Lead the core traditional risk management program for the USG.
Prepare and submit findings and reports affecting the ERM program.
Provide direction and advice on state insurance programs.
Perform special projects and assignments as assigned.
Travel to various USG institutions and other offsite meeting locations.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Business, or related field.
Over three years of directly related program management experience.
Experience preferably in Higher Education operations.
Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
8-10 years job related experience.
Two or more Certifications or licenses preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Advanced knowledge of risk management and business continuity.
Knowledge of federal and state laws impacting higher education.
Ability to provide supervision and direction.
Ability to effectively multi-task.
