We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Assistant in the Non-Profit industry located in Carson, California. As an Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for various financial transactions, account management, and reconciliation tasks. You will also assist in invoicing and provide support to different areas within the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Handle and process accounts payable and ensure timely payment across multiple cost centers.
• Oversee accounting activities related to the child development cost center.
• Assist in the management of over 100 campus clubs' accounts, which includes processing check requests, making deposits, and supervising account activities.
• Perform monthly reconciliations for student club accounts, including charges made via PayPal and Visa.
• Process a variety of transactions, including deposits and payments.
• Prepare invoices for university auxiliary services and assist with data entry for financial reporting.
• Utilize various accounting software systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools to maintain accurate financial records and perform accounting functions.
• Conduct regular auditing and bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
• Assist students with financial transactions and provide support to enhance their understanding of financial processes.• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services
• Experience working with CaseWare
• Knowledge of Concur system
• Understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
• Ability to perform Accounting Functions
• Expertise in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience in Auditing
• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations
• Ability to work in a non-profit sector
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
