We are in the search for a VP of Accounting to join our team in the Real Estate & Property industry, based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This role involves providing business support and accounting information to generate timely and exact financial statements, reports, and data for external accounting firms, ensuring prompt completion of compilation reports and tax returns for the owners and our establishments.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately prepare and maintain accounting documents, create journal entries, account analysis, and records
• Handle cash management tasks, manage tenant payments and issue disbursements
• Conduct reconciliation of bank accounts and balance sheet accounts in a timely fashion
• Prepare monthly financial statements
• Deliver requested data to the tax preparer
• Undertake projects associated with the owner's companies and investments
• Oversee the company's developments, project analysis, budgeting, loan requests, construction draws, and construction accounting
• Maintain vendor report for annual 1099 forms completion
• Employ Accounting Functions, Budget Processes, Financial Statement Preparation, WIP - Work In Progress, Budgeting, Account Reconciliation, Cash Management, Journal Entries, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Account Reconciliation, Month End Close, Financial Reporting, Construction Drawings, Construction Accounting, Vendor Records, CPA, Construction Projects - Accounting skills effectively in the role.• Minimum of 7 years of experience in the field of Accounting, preferably within the Real Estate & Property industry.
• Proven expertise in handling Accounting Functions such as Account Reconciliation, Cash Management, and Journal Entries.
• Proficient in Budget Processes including Budgeting and Balance Sheet Reconciliation.
• Demonstrated ability in Financial Statement Preparation and Financial Reporting.
• Familiarity with WIP - Work In Progress accounting.
• Experience in Bank Account Reconciliation and Month End Close activities.
• Understanding of Construction Drawings and Construction Accounting.
• Ability to manage Vendor Records efficiently.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is mandatory.
• Experience in accounting for Construction Projects is required.
