Position Summary


Robert Half Finance & Accounting is partnered with a reputable client on the Westbank in search of a talented Accounting Specialist/Bookkeeper to join their team.

Responsibilities:


  • Accurately import and process journal entries, ensuring their accuracy in the accounting software system.
  • Conduct balance sheet account reconciliations to verify financial records.
  • Manage bookkeeping tasks, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up to date.
  • Utilize QuickBooks to streamline accounting functions.
  • Leverage your knowledge of accounting functions to improve our financial operations.
  • Conduct fixed asset accounting, including management of fixed asset ledger and inventory.
  • Resolve financial discrepancies by performing thorough financial reconciliations.
  • Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions when necessary.
  • Assist with month-end close processes and prepare journal entries as required.

Requirements:


  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or a similar accounting role.
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software systems; QuickBooks preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting functions and month end close procedures.
  • Proficiency in account and bank reconciliations.
  • Demonstrated experience in bookkeeping and data entry.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
