Director of Accounting Job at Robert Half in Syracuse

This organization that has great work life balance has a need for a Director of Accounting. As a Director of Accounting, you will be in charge of managing the accounting team and overseeing the financial operations to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports.

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, and other financial regulatory standards.

• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

• Lead audits and maintain strong internal controls.

• Identify opportunities for process and system improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting processes.

• Provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making for executive management.

• Develop, update, and enforce accounting policies and procedures to maintain a robust financial reporting system.

• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable operations.

• Be a strategic partner to the organization and provide input for future growth strategies and possible acquisitions.

• Proven leadership skills in managing an Accounting team

• Understanding of Budget Processes and ability to implement them effectively

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities

• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; advanced degree is an asset

• Professional Accounting certification (CPA, CMA, etc.) is a plus.
