We are seeking an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead our financial operations in Buffalo, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the hands-on operations of our Finance & Accounting Department, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all financial activities. This is a role that requires a strong understanding of financial operations, the ability to analyze complex financial reports, and the skills to lead and develop a team of financial professionals.
Responsibilities:
• Direct the operations of the Finance & Accounting department, ensuring overall efficiency and effectiveness.
• Analyze financial resources and reports such as balance sheets, invoices, accounts payable and accounts receivable, business reports, financial forecasts, and statements to understand the financial state of the organization.
• Monitor the contractual obligations of each grant and funder supporting each program including program statistics and benchmarks.
• Manage and control the flow of cash to meet the financial, investment, and organizational needs of the organization.
• Facilitate the annual budget preparation process and consistently monitor budget performance.
• Collaborate to implement policies, processes, systems, applications, and procedures for financial operations, analysis, and reporting.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and legal changes, and make appropriate changes in financial and accounting operations to ensure full compliance.
• Build a relationship of respect, trust, and support with each of the finance and accounting team members.
• Develop successful working relationships with program directors and program staff members.
• Ensure that all team members are trained and coached to use financial software effectively and efficiently.
• Demonstrate initiative to solve problems and identify improvement opportunities and solutions.
• Use Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP Solutions, Great Plains (GPAC), Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, Billing Functions.• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Expertise in ADP - Financial Services
• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
• Experience with ERP Solutions
• Knowledge of Great Plains (GPAC)
• Ability to manage all Accounting Functions
• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP)
• Proficiency in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience in Auditing
• Ability to handle Billing Functions.
