Addison Group Los Angeles, in partnership with our client near El Segundo, seeks an Accounting Supervisor on a direct hire basis.


Job – The hired Accounting Supervisor will oversee day-to-day accounting operations (Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable) and perform monthly/quarterly closing processes. Besides those essential duties, the Accounting Supervisor will be involved in inventory accounting, financial statements, and audits. The Accounting Supervisor will supervise a few staff accountants.


Job Site Status (onsite/hybrid/remote) - Our client envisions a hybrid schedule of four days/week after an initial onsite status the first ninety (90) days of employment.

Compensation/Benefits – Starting salary range is $120,000/year to $140,000/year.

ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR DUTIES

General Ledger (G/L) Accounting

· Perform day-to-day accounting operations and month/quarter/year end close process

· Ensure correct entry of accruals and journal entries on a monthly basis during closing periods

· Ensure correct entry of intercompany entries

· Prepare account, balance sheet, and bank reconciliations

· Prepare and consolidate financial statements

· Manage the Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) process

· Review overseas payroll reports

· Ensure proper cash applications

· Train and supervise Staff Accountants

Internal Controls

· Ensure existing financial controls are compliant with GAAP

· Supervise the year-end audit

· Respond to audit inquiries

· Recommend any improvements

Financial Reporting

· Prepare financial reports for management

· Prepare month-end reports such as income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statements

Compliance

· Participate in all financial and tax audits as needed, including sales and usage taxes

· Test appropriate internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP

Miscellaneous

· Help build out the fixed asset accounting system

· Accept any other projects as necessary


ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR QUALIFICATIONS

Required

· Bachelors in Accounting, or equivalent work experience

· At least five (5) years of work experience in accounting, including audit process experience (either from public accounting side or the point person of the audit on the corporate side)

· General Ledger (G/L) experience

· Some exposure to FP&A

· Internal controls experience

· Supervisory experience

Preferred

· Certified Public Accounting (CPA) designation

· Public accounting experience

· Current or previous industry experience in a product-based business with inventory and/or manufacturing elements

· Consolidations


ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR SKILLS

Required

Technical

· Expert-Level experience in an ERP program

· Expert-Level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, IF Formulas) and in quantitative/data functions

Interpersonal

· Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task efficiently

· Ability to work independently

· Ability to problem-solve

· Detail oriented, with high level of ethics and integrity

· Superior communication skills

· Ability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances
