Job Description
An integrated financial management firm that provides Accounting, Tax, Business Advisory, Investment Banking and Wealth Management services to its clients is seeking an experienced Accounting Director to join its headquarters finance team. The Accounting Director will be responsible for leading a growing Accounting and Advisory Practice focused on helping entrepreneurs and closely held private business owners achieve financial success from early-stage, growth, transition, and retirement planning. The Accounting Manager will play an integral role in this growing discipline supporting the firm's clients.
Responsibilities:
· Oversee engagements including preparations, compilations and reviews; managing practice deliverables and quality
· Advise clients on a full spectrum of accounting and advisory services including individual and corporate bookkeeping, entity restructuring, advising on chart of accounts, establishing budget & forecasting processes, and supporting capital transactions and other analyses
· Gain understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives
· Develop, inspire, and train staff-level team members
· Develop and maintain working relationships with clients
· Help firm to grow by identifying new business opportunities
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; advanced degree highly desirable, but not mandatory
- Active CPA certification
- Ability to review corporate and personal tax returns is a plus but not required
- Experience with M&A and business transitions a plus, but not required
- Minimum of 7+ years of professional experience, preferably in local public accounting firm
- Solid working knowledge of financial statement preparation and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- A growing client service skillset and the ability to develop strong client relationships
- Experience in identifying and addressing client needs, including: building and utilizing client networks, communicating value propositions, managing budgets, and preparing complex materials
- Experience and Proficiency with CCH ProSystem fx Engagement and QuickBooks
- Microsoft Office Suite with strong proficiency in Excel
