OPPORTUNITY SNAPSHOT:

The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and adherence to company policies and procedures. The role involves managing a team, handling general ledger functions, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and internal controls. This position will lead the annual US Financial audit and assist with federal & state tax returns. The Accounting Manager will also contribute to process improvement and provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Analyze financial data and generate reports, delivering accurate financial insights to senior management.
  • Supervise and lead the accounting team, offering mentorship and guidance.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, credit & collections, general ledger, and internal inquiries.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and foster professional development within the team.
  • Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions in compliance with GAAP.
  • Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures to ensure adherence to financial regulations.
  • Coordinate external financial audits and manage for timely and accurate completion.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business initiatives.
  • Oversee state sales tax filings and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting processes to enhance timeliness and accuracy.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and accounting standards, ensuring the company remains compliant.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, General Ledger and general accounting principles required.
  • Experience with financial consolidation, month-end close, compliance and auditing and internal controls required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in process improvement and systems implementation is a plus.
