This role will report to the Global Controller, based in London and will have one direct report: Staff Accountant (LA based)
Job Purpose: The Accounting Manager is responsible for finalizing accounts on a monthly basis to ensure all relevant ledgers are correct, ensuring everything is in place in a timely manner to support the Global Controller in the production of monthly management accounts and monthly budgetary analysis. This person will work closely with the Global Controller to improve current financial processes and ensure all procedures become as efficient as possible. This will involve coaching and guiding direct reports on a day-to-day basis.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Follow proper accounting procedures to reach financial objectives
- Assist the Controller with the company’s financial audits
- Monitor and analyze financial accounting data
- Ensure all financial transactions are completed correctly and on-time including but not limited to payment card processing, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Deliver timely and accurate financial processing, month end close and cash management reports
- Prepare employee salary statements and process paychecks
- Maintain payroll files and create reports and ensure all payroll procedures are in line with governmental laws and policies
- Coach and train team members on key accounting processes and procedures
- Work with other department managers to ensure accounting practices are well understood and followed
Qualifications & Attributes:
- 5-10 years of relevant industry experience in accounting
- Strong knowledge of accounting, cost control principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with NetSuite is preferred
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Multi-tasking abilities
- Displays professionalism with customers and colleagues in high-pressure situations
Availability: This role requires two days in the office, preferably Tuesdays & Wednesdays.
