Position Mission Statement:

To demonstrate a servant’s heart to KFG’s clients and the firm by providing timely, considerate, and professional service to prepare financial statements and accounting advice to small businesses.


Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Hold Needs Analysis Meetings with prospective clients
  • Deliver proposals and service agreements to new clients
  • Onboard new clients to the department, including establishing digital access to client information; creating or accessing their QuickBooks file; writing a process for serving the client; identifying and resolving any initial issues found with the client’s current financial record keeping
  • Maintain electronic record of all business transactions (i.e. credit cards; business vehicles; insurance policies; banking relationships; liabilities; assets; etc.) for accounting clients using QuickBooks Online
  • Process bills and payments for accounting clients using bill pay software applications
  • Prepare Sales & Use Tax filings for accounting clients
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other business accounts for accounting clients
  • Review data entry, reconciliations, and journal entries entered by junior team members or the client and coach the team member or client on any issues identified
  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements for accounting clients
  • Assist clients with bookkeeping policies and procedures
  • Help clients on a consulting basis, including setting up QuickBooks; QuickBooks training, improving bookkeeping policies and procedures; preparing financial records for tax filing; etc.
  • Assist clients with problem resolution, including resolution of sales tax notices, suspected errors in financial records, payroll liability or expenses discrepancies, etc.
  • Crosstrain on processing live payroll, to act as a backup to the payroll team
  • Maintain current knowledge of changing accounting-related laws and regulations 
  • Provide back-up support for other accounting processors who are sick or on vacation
  • Help to onboard and train new KFG accounting processors
  • Participate in Business Services Department’s weekly staff meetings and other KFG staff meetings  
  • Review monthly invoices before sending to clients  
  • Help clients set up an Automatic Clearing House (ACH) payment method for KFG accounting service fees
  • Complete annual requirements to maintain licenses and certifications, including QuickBooks ProAdvisor
  • Support Accounting Team and Business Services Department by completing quarterly projects or initiatives (“Rocks”) as assigned
  • Maintain relationship with KFG’s most important accounting vendors (i.e. Intuit, RightWorks, etc.)
  • Perform other duties as required


Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge and experience with relevant software (QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with precision and accuracy
  • Ability to manage and satisfy frequent deadlines for many different accounting clients
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in written form
  • Thorough, with high responsibility for client service and satisfaction
  • Comfortable persuading clients to adopt more efficient processes and procedures within their accounting system
  • Ability to have professional and tactful conversations with clients to resolve conflicts
  • Understanding of monthly and year end accounting processes
  • History of prudent management in personal finances as verified by a background check
  • Must be intrinsically motivated and able to work individually with little direction
  • Must be a team player and able to collaborate with other KFG Business Services team members
  • Must exemplify the firm’s corporate values and represent the company well in the community and in all dealings with vendors, customers, and other affiliates


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required or equivalent years of experience
  • Three years of accounting experience serving clients or small businesses
  • QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor or able to achieve this designation


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
