Salary:
Best known for computer programs that extend and enrich the Windows experience, as well as for developing and publishing award-winning PC strategy games, Stardock is seeking a skilled Accounting Manager to perform general bookkeeping and billing activities (AP/AR); maintain financial reports and records; prepare and analyze budgets; and manage relationship with external accounting firm such as coordination of annual financial statement review and preparing tax returns. This is a salaried, full-time position at our Plymouth, Michigan office.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Daily general bookkeeping for multiple entities: prepare monthly analysis and account reconciliations: balance sheet account reconciliations; preparation of journal entries and related accruals, record financial transactions in an accurate and timely manner, invoice creation, tracking of fixed asset activity, maintenance of schedules supporting revenue recognition and maintenance of intercompany activity and records.
- Manage corporate credit cards, payment of bills and related reporting.
- Monthly payment and maintain record of independent contractors and other work for hire agreements.
- Partner with executive team to prepare and follow budgets.
- Filing sales and use tax in multi-state environments.
- Manage relationship with external accounting firm, including coordination of the annual financial statement review and preparation of necessary tax returns.
- Review final corporate tax returns and review financial statements prepared by the external accounting firm.
- Participate in the development of controls including analytical tools, reports and systems to help maintain an effective control environment.
- Special tasks, analysis or projects as assigned.
Education and/or Experience Desired:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- 5+ years applicable experience
- Data Entry into Quickbooks, experience with QB required
- MS Office proficiency: Excel, Word and Outlook
- Interest and ability to learn new technologies and efficient practices
- Clear, respectful and regular communication with internal and external stakeholders: CEO, Executive Team, Customers and Vendors
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines
- Experience working in privately held, owner managed corporate environment preferred
- Exceptional organizational and administrative skills
