SUMMARY
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of general accounting tasks to support the accounting team. This includes managing accounts payable, payroll support, reconciling bank statements, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities.


IN THIS ROLE, THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL

  • Perform general ledger bookkeeping, payroll tasks, and bank statement reconciliation.
  • Manage accounts payable entries and oversee payment processing.
  • Support the preparation and execution of month-end journal entries and closing activities.
  • Reconcile credit card statements monthly.
  • Process expense reports.
  • Post payments from invoices and tabulates data or other similar accounting records to the appropriate sub-ledger accounts.
  • Maintains and reconciles fixed asset systems and prepares standard month-end journal entries.
  • Provides support and analysis for quarterly and year-end reporting and audits.
  • Any additional duties assigned by management.


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and/or experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or similar preferred
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, with knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The role is based in an office/cubicle setting, requiring close collaboration with the accounting team and other organizational members. The position is primarily on-site, with occasional remote work allowed under special circumstances. No travel is required.
