We are currently seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial records of our law firm, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate entry of invoices and creation of checks for payments.
- Process deposits and allocate funds to the correct client cases.
- Monitor trust funds for unallocated monies and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Process reimbursements for attorneys.
- Void, create, approve, and issue checks as necessary.
- Process reimbursements for attorneys and investigate suspected fraudulent charges.
- Void, create, approve, and issue checks as necessary.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Generate financial analyses and reports as requested by management to support decision-making processes.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation for audit purposes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Prior experience in accounting or finance, particularly within a law firm or professional services environment, is advantageous.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Adaptability to changing work environments and ability to handle unexpected events with professionalism.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may involve standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive motion, with or without reasonable accommodations.
