Accounting Manager Job Description – “I and Love and You”

Job Overview:

Reporting to the Controller, this person will manage much of the “I and love and you” accounting function. This role will be critical in helping “I and love and you” develop efficient and precise processes and controls that will allow for effective and streamlined growth.

Job Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate passion and expertise for managing the accounting function and driving change to ensure effective processes and controls

• Manage, with help from the Controller, all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements

• Review & reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare accurate and on-time month-end journal entries
• Complete monthly trade accrual and manage trade management system (iTPM)

• Support month-end and year-end close process and update monthly ME checklist
• Review and analyze income statement variances each month to our LE and AOP
• Prepare and present monthly financial results to management
• Prepare and present monthly Customer P&L

• Coach, mentor and develop a current staff of 3

• Prepare Quarterly Boulder Sales and Use Tax Returns and other tax related items such as 1099 reporting and maintaining Avalara
• Actively manage A/R and A/P process and team to ensure deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines

• Assist in year-end audits and field exams

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required
• 6+ years of industry or public experience in accounting
• 2+ years of leading an accounting team and function
• Experience working with a manufacturer/CPG
• Location: Colorado preferred. This role is primarily remote, with occasional in-office requirements up to once a month for 3-5 days
• Experience with high-growth company preferred
• Experience with NetSuite preferred
• Has no problem working in a dog-friendly environment
• Person of high character and integrity
