The Buffalo, NY office of Lippes Mathias LLP is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. Attention to detail, accuracy, ability to analyze information, and confidentiality are key characteristics of this position. 


Responsibilities will include:


  • Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions.
  • Oversight of accounts receivable collections with attorneys and clients. 
  • Perform various account reconciliations.
  • Daily Interaction with accounting clerks to meet deadlines.
  • Assist in consolidation of accounts. 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the billing function.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with members of the finance team and other departments.
  • Ensures effective internal financial controls.
  • Support other departments within the firm.
  • Travel to other regional offices, anticipated 10%.
  • Perform other accounting duties as assigned.

 

Our ideal Accounting Manager will have:


  • A positive professional attitude in all aspects of the role and taking ownership responsibility.
  • 3-5 years’ experience as an accounting manager, or increased responsibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with law firm billing system. ProLaw a plus but not required.
  • High accuracy rate and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong professional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Reliable attendance 
  • Ability to complete projects with little direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and supervise staff.
  • Ability to use discretion and handle confidential information.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce high quality work products.

 

Salary range DOE: $60,000-$80,000.00 /year

 

The pay range provided in this listing is a good faith estimate for this position based on the location that we are hiring for. Criteria included but not limited to, skill level, education, and experience, will determine where a candidate falls within the range.
