Come join one of Philadelphia's Best Places to Work 2024! Arbill Industries, a mid-size PPE Distributor located in NE Philadelphia, is seeking a Director of Accounting. The Director of Accounting will lead the accounting operations of the company. They will have ownership of the financial close, reporting, compliance, internal controls and audits and will oversee and manage all aspects of the company's accounting and financial operations. They will lead a team of accounting professionals that help the organization reach its financial objectives. They will regularly analyze key business metrics, offering strategic problem-solving to drive results while upholding company values.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Produce accurate and timely financial, analyzes monthly financial results and provides commentary on variances.
•Lead the annual corporate audit and other periodic audits.
•Possess and maintain a working knowledge of and ensure compliance with federal and state laws in all areas of accounting.
•Manage the cash flow to ensure financial stability and efficient use of resources.
•Provide financial projections by coordinating budget/forecast preparation, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial information.
•Responsible for the establishment and effectiveness of internal controls and ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded.
•Analyze financial data for patterns, trends, and anomalies, and recommend corrective action as necessary.
•Shorten the time to close through process improvement and team training.
•Ensure compliance with service level agreements.
•Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
Requirements
- Public / Private Experience.
- 5+ years Public Audit with Big 4 or large regional firm with 2 years leading audits for distribution and/or manufacturing clients.
- 5+ years as a Corporate Controller or Director of Accounting with full P&L and Audit responsibility of a distribution or manufacturing company.
- Experience leading local, state, federal tax filings for multiple legal entities.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
- CPA certification.
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP and knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Able to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency with computer and software applications used in job functions (accounting, databases, spreadsheets, power points, reporting and querying, etc.)
- P21 experience a plus.
