About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to lead its global accounting, finance operations, and external reporting teams. The CAO will be a strategic and operational partner to the CFO and executive team, with a focus on the full accounting and reporting functions. This role is pivotal as the company expands, including international growth and M&A activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for modernizing systems and processes, scaling business operations, and driving efficiencies in accounting. Key responsibilities include leading global accounting operations, overseeing the record-to-report cycle, month-end close, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting and analysis. The CAO will also be tasked with creating a strategic vision for finance and accounting, managing the accounting budget, and leading a high-performing global team. Applicants for the CAO position at the company should have a strong background in public company accounting, with at least 15 years' experience, including a recent role as a CAO in a fast-growing public company. The role requires a candidate with a CPA and/or a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, and a proven track record in public company/SEC reporting and SOX compliance. Experience in global businesses, M&A, and a preference for those with a background in SaaS is noted. The ideal candidate will have a history of scaling and improving processes, systems, and teams, and be adept at building and developing high-performing teams. Strong leadership, organizational development, process improvement, strategic execution, and communication skills are essential for this position.
