Overview
The
Sr Director, Data Strategy
is responsible for creating and implementing the Data and Analytics strategy for the Health and Benefits (H&B) business line. As a strategic partner, this leader will deliver on the strategy through creation and deployment of data assets/products, dashboards, and analytic capabilities that enable H&B producers and consulting teams to provide market differentiating insights and thought leadership to clients and prospects. Ideally this will be a hybrid role with flexible work encouraged, based out of Gallagher’s global headquarters in Rolling Meadows, IL. However, for the right person this position can be entirely virtual/remote/work from home and you can sit anywhere in the US.
How you'll make an impact
Collaborate with H&B global leadership to define a commercially viable data and analytics strategy for H&B, including data asset/product vision, goals, and prioritized roadmap. Drive data literacy and serve as an evangelist for the value of data and analytics including Gallagher Drive and other capabilities. Champion use cases and value opportunities across H&B practices to enable sales/finalist presentations, improve operational efficiency, and improve customer and agent/advisory experience. Support sales and cross-selling by partnering with sales teams to onboard prospects and clients to Gallagher Drive, perform analysis, and produce recommendations to optimize spend. Define and prioritize features and requirements based on stakeholder input, business objectives, and technical feasibility. Create and maintain the backlog of use cases, ensuring that it is well-groomed, prioritized, and aligned with the overall strategy. Develop go-to-market strategies for data assets & products and collaborate with H&B marketing and sales teams to drive adoption. Gather feedback to measure value realized and continuously improve the data and analytics capabilities to be a market leader.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information management, or related field. A master’s degree is preferred. Proven experience (10+ years) in data management and data strategy roles. Knowledge of insurance and employee benefits processes & data, health analytics, benchmarking, and data-enabled storytelling. Experience implementing reporting and analytics, including benchmarking and self-service capabilities to improve cost and efficacy of healthcare and benefits programs. Familiarity with Cloud data platforms and data ingestion/integration tools, data management practices, data privacy, and security to empower employers and their benefit consultants to solve complex problems. Understanding of AI/Gen AI and cognitive analytics concepts and experience is a huge plus. Experience delivering data products in an Agile environment, including workshop facilitation, use case identification, backlog management, requirements grooming, and delivery. Experience selecting and managing data and analytics vendors, ensuring quality delivery within time and budget. Stakeholder and user engagement, alignment, and communication. Team management and mentorship.
