Job Description

Job Title: Purchasing Accounting Specialist

Job Location: 17725 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77094

Job Overview:

The Purchasing Accounting Specialist will support the purchasing department and our franchisees by processing invoices, collaborating with our accounts payable specialists to ensure accurate payment of vendor bills, and resolving financial discrepancies. This role will report to the Director of Purchasing.

Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Receive invoices from vendors and reconcile them in Quickbooks on a weekly basis  
  • Work with Corporate Accounting Dept- AP Specialists on their invoice payment questions 
  • Reconcile vendor invoices as received, in Quickbooks and Smartsheets (including equipment order reconciliations) 
  • Assist Corporate AP Specialists in billing out locations under construction 

Other responsibilities: 

  • Answer inquiries and follow up with vendors on accounting issues and procedures 
  • Reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information (monthly statements from vendors) 
  • Special projects, as assigned 
Qualifications

  • A positive customer service attitude towards others 
  • Accounting experience 
  • Good understanding of fundamental accounting principles 
  • Proficient in QuickBooks, MS Excel  
  • Excellent time management and communication skills 
  • Sales tax experience is a plus (for assisting with credit apps for new store locations) 

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasionally bending, twisting, and turning.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

  • This role will be located at the Home Office headquarters in Houston, TX.

  • Some travel may be required (less than 10%).

Base Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
