Brief summary of role:
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Revenue Manager is an interdisciplinary position and manages all aspects of day-to-day order-to-cash accounting operations, including contract review for proper revenue recognition & managing input of contract details into Zuora. The ideal candidate will have a high attention to detail, effective communication skills, and willingness to learn. You will have the opportunity to recommend and drive new initiatives and support our fast-growing organization. The ideal candidate will have a combination of both operational and technical accounting experience. This position requires working PST hours.
What you will be doing:
- Lead, prepare and manage all aspects of the monthly order-to-cash close activities, including preparation and review of revenue, accounts receivable and deferred revenue-related journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analyses.
- Lead the implementation of Zuora Revenue and Zuora Billing and collaborate across departments to develop more automated revenue recognition solutions. Work with the Sales Operations team on continuous improvement of Salesforce CPQ.
- Complete second level review of non-standard contracts and document accounting conclusions.
- Maintain the ASC 606 policy and analyses for critical accounting estimates (standalone selling price, variable consideration, reserve for credit losses).
- Ability to apply critical thinking and flexibility within the framework of ASC 606 to work seamlessly with key stakeholders (sales, legal, deal desk, FP&A).
- Build revenue reporting dashboards and other ad-hoc reports to deliver relevant, timely, and accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare audit support for revenue, unbilled revenue, deferred revenue and reserves.
- Eager to take on new projects to support a fast-growing company, such as supporting international structure, multi-currency, approval automation, etc.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years relevant experience – ideally 2-3 years serving SaaS clients in Big 4 public accounting or revenue advisory and 2-3 years in-house at a SaaS company.
- Experience working at a high-growth, fast-paced SaaS company with subscription revenue and multiple element arrangements.
- ASC 606 subject matter expert having extensive experience reviewing and interpreting contracts for ASC 606 revenue recognition implications.
- Experience working with Zuora and Salesforce is required.
- Confidence in your skills with systems and a strong comprehension of IT data flows will be critical to success in this role.
- Experience supporting sales operations and sales teams.
- Project management experience in relation to systems and reporting.
