As a US-based warranty provider, we provide expertise in safety and homecare to our customers. Our integrated solutions meet customer needs both inside and outside the home. Inside the home, we safeguard essential systems like plumbing, heating and cooling, appliances, power surge protection, hot water heaters, and interior electrical components. Outside the home, we ensure the protection of vital lines, including water, gas, wells, sewers, electric, and septic systems. We primarily go to market B2B2C, partnering mostly with water/gas/electric utilities and municipalities to offer our product leveraging their brand for marketing and often adding our subscription fee to the water/gas/electric bill itself. Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting to join our growing team.

This position is responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable and Treasury department. Compilation and analysis of accounting/financial information for Oncourse Home Solutions. Plays a crucial role in optimizing and streamlining organizational processes within accounting. Ability to analyze existing workflows, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness that anticipates the future state of the company.

This role is based in Naperville, IL office. A regular in-office hybrid model (generally T-Th in office, M&F remote) is required, as our office environment is a key driver of our company culture and employee experience.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Lead and manage Treasury and Accounts Payable teams, overseeing two direct reports and an overall team of eight employees.
  • Evaluate current processes/workflows, identify opportunities, and drive improvement and automation.
  • Oversee the development and accuracy of the cash forecast and other dept related financial reporting.
  • Review journal entries and assist in the facilitation of the monthly close process. Analyze financial results and variances, ensuring completeness and accuracy of the general ledger.
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and operating reports. Lead applicable parts of the annual audits and coordination with the external auditors for your respective area.
  • Work with the Financial Planning and Analysis, General Accounting, Claims Dept, vendors and financial institutions and other back-office support - provide information for accounting and reporting matters and assist in interpreting and analyzing financial results.
  • Assists in the refinement and maintenance of the accounting/financial policies, practices, internal controls, and operating procedures to ensure the integrity of the Company’s internal control structure.
  • Develop strong relationships with process owners and act as a subject matter expert in the design and implementation of controls.
  • Lead process walkthrough meetings with external auditors; create and maintain process flow diagrams and narratives. Manage documentation requirements related to the internal control environment.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives to optimize the effectiveness of existing business applications, technologies and systems and to build efficiencies/improvements into current business processes.

Experience and Qualifications of the Role
  • 5+ years of progressive Corporate Accounting with minimum of 3 years of people management experience.
  • 4+ years of Public Accounting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word), with a particular expertise in advanced Microsoft Excel functionalities (i.e., pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, SUMIFs, etc.)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with proven ability to interact effectively with internal customers, management, and external professionals (i.e., auditors).
  • Proven track record of process improvement.
  • Excellent analytical, systemic, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work in teams or effectively work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on initiative, knowledge sharing, team building and decision making.


Computer Skills Needed to Perform the Job  
  • Knowledge and prior experience working with Oracle a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word), with a particular expertise in advanced Microsoft Excel functionalities (i.e., pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs, etc.) a strong preference.


Education
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) a plus.
