Salary: $80,000 - $90,000

Reports To: Chief Administrative & Financial Officer (CFO)

ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside has been proudly serving children and families since 1967. We are one of the premier non-profits in the Inland Empire and looking for an incredible Accounting Leader to join our dynamic team. We are a highly driven and mission-focused organization. The Club’s impact extends throughout several sites across the Inland Empire, Redlands, and areas of the High Desert.

Job Purpose: The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Accounting to oversee all financial aspects of our organization. The Director of Accounting will play a crucial role in ensuring financial transparency, accuracy, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. This position requires a strategic thinker who can provide financial leadership and support to achieve our mission of empowering youth and fostering positive community impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Management:
    • Oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting.
    • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Assists with the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads and senior management.
    • Monitor budget performance and provide regular financial analysis and recommendations to the CFO and Executive Team.
  3. Audit and Compliance:
    • Assist with the annual audit and tax filings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to nonprofit organizations and accounting practices.
    • Implement internal controls to safeguard organization assets.
  4. Financial Strategy and Support:
    • Provide strategic financial advice to the CFO and Executive Team to support decision-making and organizational growth.
    • Collaborate with program leaders to analyze program finances and ensure financial sustainability.
    • Support grant reporting and management of restricted funds.
  5. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide opportunities for professional development.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
  • Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and regulations.
  • Experience with financial management software (e.g., Sage Intacct) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels.
