Work Arrangement

Preference will be given to hybrid candidates in San Francisco, CA or Salt Lake City, UT who live within 50 miles of Method offices and can work in-office at a minimum of one day per week OR fully remote candidates in the Seattle, Washington or Portland, Oregon areas. Fully remote candidates in CA, WA, OR, UT, NM, or CO are also welcome to apply. Please note that any fully remote candidates must demonstrate that they have previous experience working successfully in a fully remote environment.


The Opportunity

The Accounting Specialist will work collaboratively across various teams to support and promote business processes for a growing agency. The Accounting Specialist understands accounting and bookkeeping fundamentals, is detail oriented, deadline driven, resourceful, analytical, and they bring a helpful and problem-solving approach to all they do.


As a member of the Method finance team, the Accounting Specialist will improve processes, workflows, communications and overall efficiencies for accounting and reporting practices, they will also support all of Method’s hub offices. This role reports to the VP of Finance.


Responsibilities

  • Financial Administration

    • Manage full-cycle accounts payable and receivable

      • Process vendor bills, purchase orders, and payments

      • Handle monthly client invoicing and weekly collections

      • Maintain accurate and complete vendor and client records

      • Compile vendor 1099s at year end

    • Provide timely responses to client and vendor inquiries and requests

    • Perform daily bank account reconciliations

    • Process outgoing wire transfers

    • Support month-end close and financial reporting as directed by finance team

    • Manage client onboarding/offboarding processes

  • Time & Expense Management

    • Oversee timesheet submissions and reporting

    • Review and process employee expense reports

    • Manage corporate credit card expense reporting

    • Provide training to employees on time-tracking and expense systems and policies

  • Payroll & Benefits Administration

    • Process semi-monthly payroll for 100 employees

    • Coordinate new hire benefit enrollments

    • Provide first-level support for payroll and benefit questions

    • Support quarterly and annual benefit audits and enrollment periods

  • Administrative Support

    • Conduct new business ethics and credit checks

    • Support with asset management for new hires and departing employees


What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent combination of education and business experience

  • 3-4 years experience in accounting, payroll, and support of administrative functions

  • Interest in pursuing a finance career for an agency focused on technology brands

  • Familiarity with Google Drive and Google’s suite of tools (e.g., Slides, Docs, Sheets)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Proficient in Quickbooks, ERP experience preferred

  • Excellent time management, project management, organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

  • Proven ability to work independently, also partner and collaborate to achieve great results

Salary Ranges

We believe all employees should be rewarded competitively and equitably, using practices that are simple and transparent. We’ve provided the following salary ranges for the locations we operate in below due to their state regulations. If your market is not listed below, your specific salary band will be discussed during the recruitment process. Final compensation for this role will be determined by a number of factors including candidate’s education, relevant work experience and geographic location.

  • State of California: $50,000 - $70,000

  • State of Colorado: $50,000 - $70,000

  • State of Washington: $50,000 - $62,625

  • State of New York: $50,668 - $70,000

  • New York City: $66,498 - $70,000

  • Salt Lake City, Utah: $50,000 - $60,217
