Job Description
Based in San Diego, we are representing a well-established solar energy company specializing in all aspects of project management for both residential and commercial energy systems. They offer a wide range of solar products and are certified to install some of the industry's top brands.
Due to growth, they are looking for a talented Accounting Manager with construction industry experience who can help streamline current Accounts Payable functions and meet financial reporting deadlines. This position offers a clear growth trajectory toward Controller and beyond for the right candidate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 2+ years’ experience managing the Accounting function, including AP, AR, and General Accounting.
- Review various accounts, including vendors, banking, general ledger, and others as needed.
- Manage month-end close accurately and promptly, adhering to financial reporting deadlines.
- Develop, implement, document, and maintain processes, procedures, and policies related to the accounting function, ensuring adherence to company guidelines.
- Manage all vendor and third-party relations.
- Partner with Human Resources to hire, train, develop, and manage team member performance. Manage all internal employee relations.
- Support Project Managers and Operational staff by responding to financial questions and concerns in a collaborative manner.
- Build and maintain relationships with all customers and vendors.
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
- Assist with annual budget preparation, including researching YTD activity, data entry, and imports into budget software.
- Protect the organization by ensuring information confidentiality and confirming financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses; coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data; and preparing special reports.
- Maintain accounting controls by establishing and implementing standardized policies and procedures in collaboration with the Controller.
- Provide guidance to other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and recommendations to operational challenges.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior management experience is strongly preferred
- Construction industry experience preferred
- Knowledge of job costing, construction overhead costs , and California sales & use tax regulations
- Proficient to advanced skills in MS Office Suite applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) and accounting software
