What You'll Do:


In the Accounting and Payroll Technician role, you’ll be responsible to carry out accounting processes, assist in the daily general activities of the accounting and payroll department.

  • Collects and sorts incoming invoices and checks
  • Reconciles invoices with purchase orders, contracts, etc.
  • Performs accounts payable duties, to include verifying amounts, investigating discrepancies, preparing invoices for multiple programs, and filing invoices and purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner
  • Performs accounts receivable duties, to include recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions, verifying amounts, and posting transactions in a timely and accurate manner
  • Prepares daily bank deposits for agency
  • Maintains proper support documentation
  • Maintains yearly vendor 1099’s
  • Maintains Insurance certificates for various agency insurance policies
  • Mails correspondence in a timely manner; processes daily outgoing mail includes assigning postage through meter, carry to post office; sort and distribute daily in-mail
  • Assists with gathering documentation for annual audit
  • Assists with month-end responsibilities
  • Maintains accurate files and documentation
  • Works closely with other accounting and human resources staff in a team environment
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Monitor and reconcile bank and credit card statements on a monthly basis
  • Review timecards to ensure the employee’s time is accurately recorded and complete.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in timecards
  • Train and advise employees on timesheet procedures and policies.
  • Provide support and guidance to employees regarding time card inquiries.
Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, required
  • One year of accounting or financial record-keeping experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, required
  • One year of time keeping and payroll experience, preferred
  • Experience working in a social services or nonprofit setting, preferred
  • Basic understanding for accounting principles and procedures
  • Familiarity with government contract compliance
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills
  • Ability to write clear and concise memos.
  • Must be highly organized and demonstrate attention to detail


Location: Onsite/Escondido

Hourly Rate: $21-$23

Hours: 8am-5:00 pm
