Job Title: Accounting Clerk (Temporary to Hire)
Job Schedule: Hybrid (Post-Training)
Job Hours: Between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM

Job Summary:
The Accounting Clerk will play a vital role in supporting the cash application process. This includes identifying and matching payments received by our client with corresponding receivables, managing cash transfers, disbursements, and mark-offs. The position demands meticulous attention to detail, a focus on quality and timeliness, and the ability to navigate multiple receivable and policy administration systems. The specialist will also engage effectively with peers, management, and both internal and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of customer (internal/external) billing correspondence, complaints, and inquiries, ensuring efficient, accurate, and professional resolutions.
- Coordinate with other business partners to ensure complete resolution of customer inquiries.
- Navigate various systems, including bank billing systems, to research, analyze, and resolve customer inquiries.
- Collaborate effectively in a team environment, utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Maintain a basic understanding of Property and Casualty insurance principles and our client’s products, adhering to corporate policies, regulatory standards (SOX), and internal processes (PCI) while meeting service performance and quality standards.
- Adapt to changing business priorities by supporting other teams and processing transactions as needed.
- Complete assignments and additional duties as assigned, maintaining performance standards in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
- At least 2 years of accounting experience or financial services experience.
- Strong customer service skills, including effective oral and written communication.
- High School diploma or GED is mandatory; an associate degree is preferred.
Skills Required:
- Proficiency in navigating multiple company systems (training will be provided).
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Strong knowledge of Excel; proficiency in data entry preferred.
- Familiarity with Outlook, including email construction and management of multiple mailboxes.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Capacity to handle multiple priorities within strict time constraints.
- Exceptional collaboration skills and commitment to team and departmental goals.
- Competence in making informed decisions that yield appropriate results.
- Availability to work on-site at a designated location and overtime as needed, including occasional Saturdays.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required.
