Role Description

We are looking for a Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting Manager to join our Finance Team in San Jose, CA.

You will report to the Director, SEC Reporting, Technical Accounting & Consolidation.

Location

Hybrid role - with periodic onsite work at our San Jose office.

What you will be doing

  • Act as a technical accounting subject matter expert, with a focus on equity accounting, leases, and treasury-related transactions. Provide technical accounting guidance and support for complex transactions
  • Evaluate accounting treatment for unusual transactions, documenting assessments and conclusions in accounting memoranda
  • Lead the evaluation, documentation and implementation of new accounting standards
  • Perform ad hoc disclosure benchmarking research
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization. Lead the 10-K and10-Q filing process, including planning and coordination with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Review and/or preparation of supporting schedules for financial statements, footnote disclosures, management discussion and analyses, and maintaining complete tie-out documentation, including control procedures
  • Support the preparation of other SEC filings and investor communications, including 8-Ks and earning release materials
  • Review journal entries and reconciliations for responsible accounting subject matters, including stock-based compensation, leases, and EPS calculations
  • Interface with internal and external auditors with interim review and annual audit requests
  • Assist with ongoing and ad hoc projects or initiatives.
  • Provide training and mentoring to finance team members on technical accounting topics and emerging issues.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices in technical accounting.
What you will need to succeed
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (required)
  • 8+ years of experience in accounting, including 2-3 years of relevant experience in technical accounting and SEC reporting, with a mix of Big 4 accounting firm and publicly traded companies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to details
  • Strong leadership and communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • CPA certification (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint (required)
  • Experience with Workiva, XBRL and Oracle Cloud (preferred)


Pay & Benefits

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $140,000 - $160,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market, location and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process.
