We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Specialist with significant billing experience to join our team.

Position Summary

The Account Specialist will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. The Accounting Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain financial records, reconcile accounts, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the finance department.

 

Some of the duties include:

·       Process multiple billings for various partners in a timely manner

·       Monitor bank transactions related to payables and receivables

·       Accurately record journal entries and make necessary adjustments

·       Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements

·       Serve as backup for AR, Payroll, and AP functions

·       Verify and confirm electronic funds transfers prior to sending funds externally

·       Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations

·       Examine accounting records for accuracy, completeness and conformance to department standards

·       Complete monthly bank reconciliations

·       Collaborate with internal teams and partners to collect required billing documents for invoice submission

·       Submit accurate invoices to external organization according to timely filing deadlines

 

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate for this position possesses a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, and ideally has 3-5 years of experience in accounting roles. Preference is given to candidates with non-profit financial experience and proficiency in accounting software programs, particularly MIP. The candidate should have a proven track record as an Accounting Specialist, with a specific focus on billing.
