Shift 1 Work Schedule:
8 Hr (7:00:00 AM - 3:30:00 PM) Hybrid Schedule Summary: Consults, trains, and serves as a collaborative resource for Research Education in developing and integrating the use of educational technologies to augment, enhance, and evaluate instructional delivery methods and course-related testing and evaluation. Collaborates with other Research staff for continuing education and onboarding curricula. Determines instructional effectiveness of course materials that are developed. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures. Required Job Qualifications: Bachelors degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or a different subject with sufficient experience as an instructional designer Some experience in the areas of instructional design techniques, computer-based education, educational technology and/or alternative instructional delivery methods; or Certification in Instructional Design Commitment to keeping abreast of the latest instructional design trends and practices. Experience with eLearning authoring tools and other software for Instructional Design work (e.g. Articulate 360, Captivate, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, etc.) Knowledge of software supportive of instructional design. Experience working with audio/video files in any format. Experience in online testing and evaluation implementation. Ability to work effectively as a team member. Ability to manage and meet deadlines. Ability to investigate and troubleshoot issues and problems independently and efficiently. Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills to work effectively with both individuals and groups. Ability to work simultaneously on several projects and be able to set priorities. Ability to work collaboratively with different departments to achieve shared goals. Other duties as assigned. Preferred Job Qualifications: Experience in the evaluation of online course design. Experience with curriculum development. Experience with Project Management. Experience working with learning management systems to create and manage online courses, user accounts, course settings and enrollment options. Responsibilities: Assists in the development of course materials which are functional, intuitive, and consistent with sound instructional design principles. Aids in the evaluation, testing, implementation, and utilization of educational technology needed for content creation and delivery. Works as part of an instructional design team under the supervision of the department’s Manager or Director. Collaborates with various offices at Rush and organizational partners to analyze training needs and opportunities. Consults with department administration on design, development, implementation and evaluation of instructional programs, materials, methods, and teaching and assessment techniques. Assists the rest of the department’s team in the deployment of asynchronous learning opportunities including online course delivery and requisite training in the Rush Learning Management System (LMS). Assist with creating and editing multimedia content using a variety of editing and authoring tools. Assists with developing a range of instructional materials and other electronic information supporting research personnel. Assists other instructional designers to establish project goals, develop project plans, monitor progress toward plans, and evaluate results. Designs e-learning content that is inclusive and accessible to various audiences and learning styles. Provides support and design initiatives for technology-related instructional projects and assessments.
