About the Role

The Company is seeking a Founding Executive Director to lead its mission of advancing and supporting high-quality public charter schools. The successful candidate will be a credible and politically savvy advocate for charter schools, responsible for clarifying the organization's mission, aligning stakeholders, and developing a multi-year strategic plan. This role involves building relationships, educating the public, and advocating for pro-charter policies while dispelling myths and misinformation. The Executive Director will also be tasked with coalescing a diverse group of charter operators around a shared policy agenda, increasing the sector's influence in the legislature, and developing a fundraising strategy to ensure financial sustainability. Candidates for the Executive Director position should have a passion for educational opportunities, a deep commitment to integrity, and the grit to effect policy and advocacy change. The role requires at least ten years of professional experience, with a background in education, policy, campaign organizing, or advocacy. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading high-performing teams, building external partnerships, and fundraising. Strong skills in communication, persuasion, and the ability to navigate complex political environments are essential. Experience with 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and PACs is a plus, as is a personal connection to the education sector and local relationships in the Idaho charter school community.
