Small Savers Montessori

Executive Director

Small Savers Montessori Child Development Center, a progressive Washington D.C. school for children from infanthood to preschool, is seeking a dedicated leader for the crucial position of Executive Director. This leadership position offers the opportunity to build cohesion around the American Montessori Society (AMS) curriculum while fostering a culture that extends beyond that of a daycare center and is very much a school for early learners. The school seeks a leader who will uphold their commitment to the Montessori approach to education as innovative and child-centered.

The Executive Director serves as the chief executive and educational leader of Small Savers, responsible for building the school community, sustaining the school’s enrollment strength, and developing and retaining the school’s faculty to ensure its commitment to the holistic development of every student in a nurturing environment. This role involves strategic planning, administration, and community leadership guided by the mission and values of the school.

About the School

For over 35 years, Small Savers Montessori educators have formed a welcoming community for children and parents abundant in opportunities for exploring and developing new skills through an AMS curriculum. We envision a nurturing and engaged community where every child thrives, every staff member is respected and supported, and every family is enthusiastically invited to participate in their child’s education.

As a nonprofit, parent-run Montessori daycare, our mission is to wholeheartedly invest in our children’s development by encouraging family involvement and continually building a dedicated, expert teaching staff. We are committed to providing a supportive work environment that empowers our staff to be passionate educators who have the resources they need to guide our children through meaningful and child-led educational experiences that develop emotional awareness, build physical coordination, and encourage curiosity and creativity.
