This position is responsible for leading and directing all facets of the Global Supply Chain Operations in North, Central, and South America.
The incumbent is responsible for the supply chain execution across all modes within the region including Sales & Operations Execution and logistics within the Americas. They are responsible for the interface between manufacturing, carriers, and other logistics service providers including performance management.
Builds and maintains strong relationships with different external and internal, direct and indirect stakeholders. This position has 5-8 direct reports, a global team of 90-100 people.
Roles & Responsibilities Strategic Planning and Optimization: Develop and execute strategic plans for supply chain operations in the Americas, aligning them with the company's overall objectives and market demands. Continuously improve supply chain processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels, from procurement and production to distribution and customer delivery.
Logistics and Tactical Inventory Management: Oversee inventory planning and management to ensure optimal stock levels, minimize excess inventory, and prevent stockouts while balancing working capital requirements. Coordinate transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities to ensure timely delivery of products to customers while optimizing transportation costs and minimizing lead times.
Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing performance, and collaborating on cost-saving initiatives and supply chain improvements.
Customer Collaboration: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to understand customer needs and preferences, ensuring that supply chain operations are aligned with customer expectations and market demands.
Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure that all supply chain activities adhere to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, maintaining product integrity and compliance with relevant regulations.
Data Analysis and Performance Metrics: Utilize data analytics to monitor supply chain performance, identify areas for improvement, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, inventory turns, and fill rates.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Drive continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain operations, implementing best practices, process improvements, and technology solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Cost Management: Develop and manage supply chain budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing strategies to optimize costs while maintaining service levels and quality standards.
Sustainability Initiatives: Lead sustainability efforts within the supply chain, identifying opportunities to reduce environmental impact, improve resource efficiency, and promote sustainable practices across the supply chain network.
Talent Development: Mentor and develop the supply chain team, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities to build a high-performing and engaged workforce.
Min. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required.
Degree in Supply Chain, Business Management or Finance or related degree preferred.
Typically, 15+ years of experience in positions with increasing responsibility in supply chain, purchasing, materials management, or similar customer facing role, of which at least 5 years in supervisory role.
This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively manage cross-functional teams and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive operational excellence and deliver value to the organization.
This role must model the LyondellBasell competencies for Leading Strategically.
Fluency in English required.
Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree or MBA in relevant field preferred.
Working knowledge of one or more other European languages preferred.
