The ideal candidate has an extensive background managing projects involving automation controls and mechanical, electrical or plumbing (MEP) engineering disciplines to support the development and implementation of energy efficiency (EE) solutions with individual and corporate accounts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work closely and coordinate with Field Operations leadership to ensure they are informed and have input to project schedules. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all National, State and Local construction and design standards. Establish and ensure all projects are managed consistently in Project Management software. Track and maintain project financials and ensure standard invoicing and approval processes are established and followed for all projects. Ensure all documentation, project tracking, and deliverables are submitted accurately and timely. Direct and enforce quality control programs for construction that are consistent with construction design standards. Develop plans to secure all permits by working closely with contractors, design teams, and local and state agencies. Develop and maintain good relations with local utilities, vendors, contractors and government agencies applicable for projects throughout the United States. Ensure adherence to company safety standards by Willdan employees, our subcontractors and customers. Ensures field compliance with Willdan Performance Engineering standards, policies and procedures. Lead role in developing budget and project forecasts. Manages expenses for assigned project. Identify engineering and construction efficiency opportunities, promote change and initiate ideas. Develop and enforce policies and procedures, mentor subordinates as well as cultivating and maintaining productive relationships with Customers, Architects, Engineers, and Subcontractors during preconstruction and construction operations phases. Ensure a smooth transition from project sale to mobilization and deployment. Guide both project management and field personnel in proper planning, subcontractor selection and execution of the work. Manage and report on progress of each project and coordinate adjustments as needed to keep the projects on time and on budget. Maintain client communications to ensure their overall satisfaction with the Company's performance. Build lasting relationships to ensure future repeat business. Monitor and prevent major cost and schedule impacts. Communicate and implement necessary change conditions to protect the company from liability and our clients from unnecessary expenses. Job Requirements / Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management preferred. 10+ years of experience managing construction projects and accounts with multiple trades and contract values exceeding $5M. An exceptional candidate will have prior experience managing the installation of energy retrofit projects and will have relevant professional certifications, (PMP) is preferred. Extensive experience developing and deploying automation controls-based projects is a must. Experience with MEP design projects is a plus. Experience and expertise will be valued higher than formal education. Seven years' related experience working in an administrative capacity. Experience leading nationwide accounts and geographically dispersed teams a plus. Experience securing and managing energy efficiency and building electrification project financing and utility-based incentives using a blend of in-house and external resources (vendors and contractors). Proven success in a matrix environment where influence without direct authority is required. Ability to read and interpret engineering plans; organize and coordinate the preparation of engineering drawings, plans, and estimates. Experience with energy efficiency and electrification technologies for the purposes of capturing and value stacking financing and incentives dollars. Direct experience with business development and client strategy. Strong experience with Microsoft Project and Office tools. Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively. Ability to deliver results that achieve business outcomes and lasting relationships. Ability to align organizational and client goals with a focus on not only meeting project requirements but growing the business while meeting client needs. Travel up to 40% of the time. Experienced in technical requirements and facilitating discussions with various stakeholders. Energetic, self-confident, and persuasive with all levels of audiences. Able to adapt to a fast-paced, quickly changing environment.
