Class A CDL Driver Waukegan Steel, LLC is a premier steel fabricator for building construction serving the Chicagoland area, Indiana and beyond. We have been in business since 1929 and have a historic portfolio of working on such projects as Soldier Field, the MCA, Navy Pier, Willis Tower, Lincoln Park Zoo, and bridges for both CTA and Metra. This role will deliver fabricated structural steel and misc. metals loads to customers throughout the Chicagoland area. They will move and stage steel inventory in yard area as needed for plant operations. They will assist with receiving and unloading new steel material needed for production work. The CDL driver will report to the Logistics Coordinator. The work environment will include the following: AISC Certified Fabricator, 80,000 sq. ft. fabrication shop, automated steel fabrication equipment, conveyors, forklifts, overhead cranes, welding stations, paint operations. Qualifications: 5+ years of experience delivering manufactured products Knowledge of OSHA regulatory compliance Strong interest in the steel fabrication industry and structural & misc. metals Strong verbal/written communication, customer service skills Team player, prefers fast paced environments, comfortable multi-tasking Knowledge of DOT regulations Ability to secure loads from trailer / flatbed and ground Requirements to have a Class A CDL License : You must be at least 21 years old to drive across state lines or 18 years of age or older to drive intrastate. You must have a valid Illinois driver's license. In order to take the CDL test, you must obtain an Illinois Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) at least 14 days before the test. You must complete an Entry Level Driver Training Course from a FMCSA registered provider. You must be a legal United States resident with a Social Security number.
