General purpose of the Job
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Reach Hospitality’s Emerging Brands, ensuring the highest standards of quality, service, and profitability. This role will involve strategic planning, team leadership, and a keen focus on enhancing customer experience while driving operational efficiencies. The COO will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to develop and implement growth strategies and operational best practices to ensure sustained success in a competitive market.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, and operational strategy.
Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organization-wide goal setting, performance management and annual operations planning.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
Oversee inventory management, purchasing, and cost control measures to maximize profitability.
Oversee the company’s operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive, and organizational outcomes are met.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements across all locations.
Manage investments and expenses aggressively to ensure that the company achieves investor targets for growth and profitability.
Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth.
Lead expansion efforts, including new location openings and market penetration.
Developing strategies to assist with the company’s rapid growth.
Driving the company’s operating capabilities to surpass guest satisfaction and retention.
Controlling company costs and introducing tactical initiatives to achieve financial targets.
Build and maintain relationships with guests, employees, vendors, partners, and stakeholders.
Supervise and provide strategic direction to the Vice President of Operations (VP of Ops), ensuring alignment with company goals and overseeing regional and cross-functional operations.
Act as a brand ambassador, promoting Reach Hospitality brands’ vision and core values both internally and externally.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Hospitality Management, or related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
Five or more years of experience in executive leadership positions, with a proven track record of success in a senior leadership role.
Strong understanding of Fine Dining, with a focus on high-volume, high energy environments.
Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development.
Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues.
Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
Aptitude in decision making and problem solving.
Advanced experience in policy and procedures, management, interpersonal relations, evaluation, negotiation, and technology.
Ability to effectively communicate in English. Bilingual is preferred.
