Dental Billing Specialist
Location: San Francisco, CA (onsite)
Contract Compensation: $28-34 per hour, DOE
Targeting a minimum of 3 years of Dental Billing experience!
This opportunity will be a CONTRACT role and will be helping our client with a large project. The role will be 100% onsite and a full-time schedule. Our client is looking to hire and start the right candidate IMMEDIATELY!
This role will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing for our client’s dental services and will help them get caught up on a large project. Your primary responsibility will be to generate and submit insurance claims, process payments, and follow up on outstanding balances. Strong knowledge of dental insurance plans, coding procedures, and billing regulations are required.
Responsibilities
Generate and submit accurate dental insurance claims for services provided to patients in a timely manner.
Verify patients' insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits to ensure accurate billing and minimize claim rejections.
Review treatment plans and patient records to assign appropriate dental procedure codes (CPT, ICD-10, and CDT codes) for accurate billing.
Follow up on outstanding insurance claims, identify and resolve claim denials, and resubmit claims as necessary.
Coordinate with dental providers, office staff, and insurance companies to gather any additional information required for claim processing.
Process payments received from insurance companies and patients, post transactions accurately in the practice management software, and maintain up-to-date financial records.
Respond to inquiries from insurance companies, patients, and other parties regarding billing and claim status.
Stay up to date with changes in dental coding procedures, billing regulations, and insurance policies to ensure compliance.
Assist in resolving patient billing issues, discrepancies, and inquiries related to insurance coverage and claims.
Collaborate with the dental office team to optimize billing processes and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and revenue generation.
Skills
Proven experience as a Dental Biller or in a similar role, preferably in a dental office or healthcare setting.
Proficiency in dental procedure coding (CPT, ICD-10, and CDT codes) and knowledge of dental insurance plans.
Familiarity with dental billing software, preferably Axium, and practice management systems.
Strong understanding of dental billing and insurance claim processing procedures, including knowledge of claim submission, payment posting, and accounts receivable management.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, insurance companies, and the dental office team.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in using computer applications and software, including MS Office suite.
Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in dental billing and coding is preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a dental billing position is required
Experience with Axium software strongly desired, Microsoft Office proficiency required
100% onsite work environment
Monday-Friday, flexible office hours
